About

Khalfan AlShamsi

A portfolio of quiet places, made slowly.

I photograph quiet places, slowly. Mostly landscapes, mostly at the edges of the day, mostly when the weather is doing something I cannot fully control. The work is about distance and attention — wanting to be somewhere long enough that the place forgets you are there.

I work in film when I can afford the patience for it, and I print small. The website you are reading is being built the same way the photographs are made: deliberately, with a lot of waiting, and a strong preference for restraint over abundance.

There is no booking calculator here, and there never will be. If a photograph makes you want to go where it went, that is the whole job done.
